I'm currently enrolled in the character design class taught by David Colman who is just an amazing artist to watch work. We had a Cowboy costumed model which was really fun to draw! David had mentioned to try an exercise by remembering a pose or certain elements you saw on the model and sketch them from memory. This is my attempt at the exercise... I like my result.

A Creature...

Back in 2007 while i was still in school, i came across a blog called "CreatureBox" and was hooked instantly! Dave and Greg are the reason i bought a tablet and sketchbook pro. They are the creative spark that has pushed me to draw & draw and maybe reach that goal to work in a studio... Bruce Timm is what inspired me to draw characters, Creaturebox started my digital interest, Jeremy Vanhoozer has gotten me robot crazy and Louie Del Carmen has got me interested in drawing cute girls!! Thank you all-JM

Post #50!! Rats...

I recently purchased Sketchbook pro 2010 and I must say.. I like it a lot! Can't say i love it, yet, but I'm sure i will. This is my first sketch with the new program . Loving the new Tools! The Ellipse tool is a time saver, and i've yet to mess with the symmetry tool.. This will be post number #50 for my blog and i must say I'm proud! Some goal needs to be set like.... by the time i post number 300 hopefully i'll be working in a studio somewhere sketching the next big thing... We'll see. Thanks to all who stop by-JM

Still working on Val but for now i i'll post a lil something i did on the iphone with an application called brushes.
It takes a bit to get used to but ya just have to fiddle with it.

Update for Val...

*After Louie's latest post of Val, i noticed my pigtails were not working and i got a nice view of her head gear and armor.. Didn't get a lot done but she'll get there soon enough!!

This is the first rough of Louie Del Carmen's STEEL NOODLES character Val... I hope to polish this over the next few days hopefully.
